she sprinted, to where they were both at each others necks. she smiled and with gasping breaths began to pant. she gave what little she had left and at the same time, they touched the tree. she panted hard, as she came to a screeching stop.'that...was...fun...',she gasped.

Alaric stretched out each of his legs and yawned before answering her "indeed it was" he said not really as out of breath as she was. focusing back on their actual task he started to trot around the border since they had raced all the way to the boundary "come on let's start patrolling" he called behind him to Kodiak.

she padded after him. she stood at his shoulder, making sure she stayed at his pace. she jogged ahead a bit and sniffed the first marker. there was no intruder scent...just stale marking scent and stale deer scent. she called to Alaric,'nothing but deer have crossed the way...',she sniffed the ground, 'heading east, into the forest',she barked.

he nodded lifting his muzzle to sniff for the deer scent which he found in seconds and decided it was a good idea to take a detour and go hunting since he was a bit hungry "well then should we follow the scent to them and catch ourselves a good hunt?" he asked the young she-wolf.

she nodded and padded down the path, following the scent trail. as she pushed past some brambles, the scent grew very stong. she looked back at Alaric. 'up ahead',she whispered. she motioned that she would take a roundabout to the left.

Quickly he nodded as he followed her around the corner, picking up the scent as well. He then took the lead and cautiously trotted through the trees until he spotted the deer not too far ahead heading east, he motioned for Kodiak to follow as he hid by a bush "watch closely for any that seem weak, that way it'll be easier to take down" he whispered as he watched the herd intently searching for the slightest limp in any of the does.
